Invisalign/Clear Braces O’Fallon IL FAQ
How Long Do I Wear Invisalign?
Your aligners are fitted closely to your teeth, so you will be able to comfortably wear them 20-22 hours a day. You can take them out to eat, drink, and care for your teeth. You switch to a new aligner every two weeks. For most people, 12-18 months is enough time to fully straighten the teeth. After an exam and consultation, Dr. Schillinger maps out your treatment and can tell you exactly how long it should take to correct any crooked teeth.
Are Invisalign Clear Braces Uncomfortable?
When you wear a new aligner for the first time, you may feel some discomfort for a day or two. This feeling of pressure is mild and responds well to over-the-counter pain relievers.
How Do I Eat and Drink with Invisalign?
You don’t have to wear your aligners 24 hours a day. Take them out to eat and drink, then pop them back in. You don’t have to worry about what you eat because there are no metal braces or brackets to worry about. So go ahead and eat that corn on the cob!
How Do I Clean My Invisalign Clear Braces?
Every time you eat, be sure to brush your teeth and your aligner. This prevents stains and any chance of food caught between your teeth and the aligner tray. You can brush your aligner using a soft-bristled toothbrush and non-abrasive toothpaste. Use cool or warm water rather than hot water to not warp the aligner.
Is Invisalign Right for Me?
If your teeth are crooked or they’ve shifted out of position after removing metal braces, Invisalign is an excellent option for transforming your smile. You have the flexibility to take them out to eat and drink and for special occasions, making them ideal for your busy lifestyle.
Invisalign can be adjusted to each person’s individual bite pattern. Dr. Schillinger can also add rubber bands to the aligners to correct an overbite or underbite if needed.
Is Invisalign More Expensive Than Traditional Braces?
No. The cost for both procedures is similar. You may or may not have partial coverage through your dental insurance provider. At Innovation Dental Group, we focus on providing you with the best possible dental treatment, including clear braces, at a cost that works for your budget. We give you the total cost upfront and work with you on a payment plan that works for your budget.
